Lt. Sarah Krebs, Assistant Post Commander of the Metro North Post for the Michigan State Police, explained that the event is seeking out new or very-gently used purses in order to provide them (along with other common products for women) to women who are emerging out of abusive situations and beginning a new life on their own. The State Police is accepting donations at a number of its locations across the Great Lakes State, including in southeastern Michigan.
