For survivors of abuse, there are a lot of things that change in ways that were unimaginable. From mundane to complex, abuse shatters a lot of basic life conventions, and can wrench control from survivors. Mend on the Move’s goal is to give survivors a way to take control of their situation; to express themselves; to put effort into something beautiful and their own. We talk with the Founder of Mend on the Move Joanne Ewald about the lives being changed by their work.
Farmington, Farmington Hills, and West Bloomfield all answer the Detroit Institute of Arts initiative that they recently moved forward with. Each town involved will be providing some sort of exhibit for the 13th year of the DIA’s Inside|Out Program. Amanda Harrison helps us out understanding the impact of this program.
