Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, Chief Medical Executive of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, explained that this “pause” would not be mandated by the State of Michigan at this time, but that her department recommends that school districts adopt this suggestion in order to curb the rapid spread of COVID-19 in Michigan’s schools.
