Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel discuss disparities in protocols for providing Federal CARES Act dollars to public and private schools from the directions of U.S. Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos.
Attorney General Nessel announced that the State of Michigan will be entering a lawsuit, in partnership with five other states, against Secretary DeVos, claiming that her directives in distributing Federal CARES Act dollars to schools illegally favors affluent public schools and private schools over public school districts in lower-income areas.
