Steve Waterfield, Director of Athletics at Oakland University, says that the bubble system is less of a viable option due to the student-athlete system of college athletics, which would put the athlete role at a higher priority than the student role, something that is simply not an option for regular season play.
Waterfield, however, said a bubble system has been considered by the NCAA for the Men’s Basketball Tournament.
